Okay, this color thing has gotten me curious.
I've just looked at my sub on different computers. They're not the same. My home computer shows a significantly different color scheme. Input welcome regarding your own color configurations for monitor and Adobe Illustrator. |

quister on Jul 28 '08 Is it CMYK? I had problems with it on my computer. If it is, try RGB and upload to the critique section to see if it looks different. Also when I save for web I push the levels 13-16% before I do so it doesn't look washed out. Anyway, great work.

When you say "push the levels 13-16%" how do you mean Are you saying the same thing as valorandvellum aka Priscilla Wilson's Photoshop Coloring Tutorial: http://www.threadless.com/profile/387417/valorandvellum/blog/181779/Photoshop_Coloring_Tutorial (I'm actually using a scanned, vectorized & color bucket'ed image in Adobe Illustrator) ie: 3. Go to Image: Adjustments: Levels. A dialogue box will pop up. You will see a bunch of peaks and valleys. Pull the left arrow towards the closest peak. Pull the right arrow towards its closest peak. You should see your image become more contrasty. |

quister on Jul 29 '08 @TruLogo, No, valor's direction is for adjusting a scan of a drawing so the lines become cleaner and the grays (smudges) fade away.
I was talking about saving the finished image for subbing. When you save for web, if the preview gif is lighter than the the original, go back and click on image/adjustment/levels, move the black triangle on the left towards the center about 13-19%. The image will go darker/richer. Save again for web and see if the gif preview (on the right)more accurately resembles the original design (on the left). With this design, I think you might try moving the center triangle in levels towards the left in order to reduce the color richness/saturation shown here. I hope that helps.
