United We Stand. Let's see the parties unite for a change.

Not too accessible to Australians (or the rest of the non-Ameringlish-speaking world, small as that may be). No 5$ from me, I'm afraid. It's very busy, too - the salmon highlights on the elephant are distracting to my eye, and the animals/flag/ripped hole appear to be in three quite distinct styles - not terribly visually coherent. Keep at it.

I really like the idea, but I think that if you got rid of the 'rips' and fixed up the characters a bit, it'd look better.

Kinda cool. Clean up the exposed area around the flag - the gradients look weird. Also given that it's US-centric, you might have problems with the rules. (See the word of warning)

Way too US-centric in my opinion. It seems to me that the contest being just about democracy as a general idea and not about parties... well, this just doesn't suit that. Rips don't really work as tattoos, and I don't think they work as shirts either.

this contest was supposed to be about the entire concept of democracy, not just American democracy. I agree with mac--it's not accessible to anyone outside of the US.

i don't think the parties should unite at all. Its good that they have extreemly different view points. If they were to unite under a common set of ideals then the entire portion of our population who dont share that train of thought wouldn't be represented

On they do unite for change...just not the change you had in mind. Well...unless of course your change involves greed, genocide, and other fun things like that.
