Hello! This is my second design. I was inspired by the old drawings of sea monsters from back in the day when people thought there was an edge to the world. I then thought, wouldn't it be fun if there were such things as puddle monsters??? Anyway, hope you enjoy!

i think it's pretty badass... but for some reason i don't think the character in the middle fits. he seems to be of a different style or something, maybe make him a little more 'old style' looking?

Looks really flippin nice on blue...i just have an issue with the line thickness on the design, it kind of makes the illo seem kind of too pixel-y or ms painty even though the pieces as a hole look really nice. I think overall it's a fun little successful design.

I actually love the little guy in the middle, I think he anchors the scene and lets everyone know the monsters are coming out of puddles and not the ocean. :)

$5! I'll buy this as soon as it comes out!

I absolutely love the expressions on the monster's face next to the guy in the middle! $5 of course

Um, I basically LOVE IT! It's a really clever design. And, of course, I really like the expression the guy's face. It's classic lol

it's true, something about the lines kill this. the idea, placement, and most of the execution are spot on.

Its a really cute idea, but i dunno, i agree that it's very ms-painty, sort of like it was traced by a little kid? i don't want to sound mean, you've got the good ideas for threadless designs that get printed, but maybe not the execution/drawing talent?

I disagree. I think it's a well-conceived stylistic choice. Very Apple/Mac from the early 90's. It takes me back to 3rd grade, as it should. And it looks like it comes out nice on the t-shirt.

that *was* mean, greeneyes9, and unneccessary.

I think what people need to understand is that this person probably hasn't gotten down Illustrator and that their style is hard to translate from pen and pencil to design software such as Illustrator. Their other work which seems to be done in photoshop shows a better example of their style since the program better mimics the creation process this person is probably used to.

Uh..."unneccesary"?Hmm, well we are supposed to give our honest opinion, so I disagree. I think saying that the artist has really good ideas and needs to work on the execution is rather constructive...

All I meant is that designs that are usually printed are very similar to this in theory and idea, but the style has to be more refined. I don't think that's something to get upset about.

yay! i like it, it's cute!

the unnecessary aspect of your comment was not the suggestion that there was room for improvement, but that you suggested the artist simply didn't have the ability to do it. Saying "you don't have the talent" is not constructive, it's just mean.

This is how flame wars got started in the old days. Reads to me like greeneyes9 just has a case of internet muscles -- not worth getting upset about. Rather self-defeating to leave a comment about style that doesn't have any.

Look, i'm sorry my comment came out mean, i think it's a little overboard to say i'm trying to start a flame war lol. i was just trying to give my honest opinion based on this specific design/presentation. i'm sure the artist has a ton of potential and enough talent to make a winning design, i just wasn't crazy about this one. I apologize for not thinking more about how my comment sounded. move on!

I agree, lets move on.
I think this design show a lot of improvement from your last design, hilary!

This one is really well thought out, and it looks so awesome on that cream shirt!!
