About my design

by jimhorwat1977
Arcade geeks and latch-key kids of the '90s with videogame babysitters will dig this... (or simply fans of the Streetfighter/Capcom video game series!) Within this design, the Streetfighter video game is graphically depicted with psychedelic style by Jim Horwat, a Philadelphia-based pop artist known for his work in collage/pen and ink mediums. This Tee is an adaptation of a print design of his. As with Jim's artwork, a patient eye is greatly rewarded.

The illustration is very nice and I'm sure it makes a great print, but it just seems too boxy for a shirt.

Hi Jim Horwat.

Does Jim Horwat always refer to himself in the third person?

Interesting collage you got going there Jim Horwat, it's fun to look at. Is that THE Jim Horwat I spy in the lower right corner? Oh no it's just Dhalsim. Well I hope this design at least scores high with google. ttyl Jim.

i'm a huge SF2 fan...but i'm struggling to see the characters. you really really have to 'work' to see them. but it's pretty rad

*My apology comes in the first person. I am new to Threadless and had a friend help me out with the first three posts. I am still getting the hang of this. I'm sorry.

** dunna415: Three wet diaper posts after one day? (AND a 3rd grade jab at my last name-- Wow!) I'm guessing you think you're special here on the internet.

I like the graphic and would love to see the details. But the description does seem to have a negative effect on many voters, as you talk about "Jim" as if he was a great artist from the last century.

Who cares what he wrote...isn't this about the 'work' anyway? or am I on the wrong site? Maybe this is a popularity contest instead... Anyway, the art is AWESOME - I am not sure that it works as a shirt though.

cool illustration...

i see bison's head at the top left.. then cammy right next to him, then sagat and balrog below them... im sure theres more that i missed

looks very busy... but very creative... i dunno bout the design being on a shirt but looks great as an image by itself

I would want to see this more up close in greater detail. So far I can find Chun Li, Ken, M Bison, Balrog, Blanca, E Honda, Guile(hard to find but cool when you do), Sagat, Dhalsim. I can't tell who it's supposed to be in the upper right. I'm looking hard for Zangheif, but I can't find him, if he's even in there. Anyway, I dig the art style, even if no one has a clue that it has anything to do with SF. For those who do, if they just randomly saw this shirt and figured it out themselves, they'd probably crap themselves with excitement. I dig, though, I'm still crap free : )

dunna only leaves positive comments on cruddy stuff so don't sweat it, jim. generally, most of us goofballs on threadless don't pay attention to her.

It would look awesome as a hoodie or something if the print covered the entire piece of clothing. It really is too boxy for a shirt.

I'm bringing a word out of the old school for this particular piece of work...here it comes...

This is Mondo.

That won't come out for another few years, so enjoy.

Wow... thanks to everyone for all the great feedback! If a low-res jpeg can generate this kind of response, I can't fathom the power the 300 dpi file holds. Cheers! :D

Jim i cant wait for you to find your feet on threadless, at the moment you dont seem to have found the right balance in your designs (too simple vs too complex). Keep at it buddy and im sure there'll be some amazing designs from you in the future. No applogies necessary for the intro either, it did make me giggle though ;)
