I think trees are pretty neat and when I drew some I thought that they would look awesome on a black shirt. Take a notice at the sweet gradient that is happening in the smaller leaf area. I hope you like it!
I think I'd like to see it with some size variation, or maybe the whole thing could be larger. This might work better if you used trees with different silhouettes. Right now those are all sort of broccoli-esque stubs. Maybe add in some conifers?
I would also like to see that on a color other than black. Maybe green, blue or brown.
About the concept, I'm not really sure what a shirt with a whole lot of trees is trying to convey. If the shirt had a stronger message, and the placement was rethought, I'd buy.
Also, did you consider having the design be belt printed across the whole shirt? Threadless hasn't always offered that, but they do now, and this would be perfect for it.
I agree about this really not being enough of a concept to win a competition, but perhaps with a sea of fun forest animals doing goofy stuff between the leafy thangs could pull this one above the canopy for some critical light love.
I thought about it being a belt print but the design has gradiants in it and I believe belt prints can only have one or two colors otherwise they won't line up.
FRICKINAWESOME, I really like your idea with the animals in the design too. Oh well, there is no message behind the shirt, I just thought the design looked neat. I considered putting it on cream, but in the end black looked the best. Thanks for all of the votes and comments so far!
I think it should win. I prefer simple clean work. This is on point and charming. I want one, actually I want 2 so that when I wash the first one too much I will have another.
$5 by the way.
As a side note, I find that people are over complicating their designs lately. I hope that Threadless has a Design competition called KISS - in the spirit of "Keep It Simple Stupid" Ciao.
