Lately birds have become a theme here at Threadless. Although I don't like the dead ones, I wanted to make a visual commentary, so, I chose Michael Graves red singing bird. I don't mind killing this one because is made of plastic.
The illustration name came from the fact that Michael Graves is one of the star designers at Target store, so, I wanted to comment on that too.
I made another tee design commenting on Phillip Stark orange squeezer. I called it Sqeezophrenia. I am enjoying this kind of Design jokes. I hope you too!
It just seems to me to be a picture of a kettle (that is someone elses design) and a few plastic birds. It does not seem to make much of a statement and is not easy to see any type of a connection or reason.
Please done get offended, I like some of your other designes, I just think that a commection that you see in your head may not be as easy for the rest of us to 'get'.
The birds would need to be flying out and up, not falling down and just sitting there. Something more needs to be escaping, or flying, or moving, or something. Maybe some swirly steam would have helped. I would spend more time on concepting. You obviously can draw. Like maybe you could draw a whole ton of kitchen items and pile them up on each other. Or just kitchen items that are made of metal.
