Chicago, and by association Lollapalooza is popping up hot, crispy and toasted nuggets of new and colorful music.

The thing about Lollapalooza that inspires me is how diverse the music is that is featured.

The concept behind this design was I wanted to show Chicago as the catalyst for creative and great music. Thanks for taking the time to look at this and I will see you at the show!

Milko must have copy/paste on the brain. :)

I like the way the notes are sort of scratchy-looking, for lack of a better term. Not all perfectly clean, you know?

the notes look as though they are coming from behind the toaster, also the cityscape made from the cord seems very forced, have an easier curve on the plug end. and then dont copy and paste the notes. i dont really have a problem with it but people on threadlesss will burn you alive for that kinda stuff.
good stuff keep it up

Its a nice idea..I'd like to see the notes, incidentals etc done freehand
-some nice illustrationny typography!! and also the colours look quite 80's do you think? actually looking at it again i think its the typography that makes it look 80's. But maybe thats the look you're going for..?

not to be mean but I can see live trace a million miles away. If you are going to make some musical notes, illustrate them properly in illustrator and they will have a much nicer appeal.

Yes, I agree the notes do look like they were live traced... and that takes away from your design, unfortunately.

I also think it would be better if you use less of the clefs and sharps and extra notation like that, because although they have to with the writing of the music, they don't occur as often as they do in this image... Basically what I'm trying to say is that it doesn't look like it's representing an actual song – just the symbols that are used in the writing of a song... Use more of the traditional notes that make up a song and it will look more musical...

And I'm not really sure why they're all coming out of a toaster, but it's your concept and vision, so go with it!

Keep at it!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOVE
the random concept
but I don't love the colors that you used or how blocky the notes are.
I wish it was more flowy you know?
like on a staff or... I don't know, I don't want to butcher your design too much but I just love the concept so much...

maybe the toaster could be at the side, so the notes wouldnt look so symmetrical...?

Yeah..it'd look better if the toaster was on the right hand side
I would love to wear this(:

I'd wear it. I'd put it up on my wall. I'd want a toaster just like this one. I'll call it the iToast.

Thanks to everyone who liked my shirt. I appreciate your comments. I also appreciate the criticism. That is what makes this site so great.

As far as using livetrace goes, what does it matter, it is just another tool as far as I am concerned. I like the way that it turned out. Guess what I used Kuler.com to get inspired for the colors, is that such a terrible thing?

Drivebyinsult, you said that the notes dont make a song, well I wasn't trying to write a new song or anything they a there purely as a reference to music in general. I am not a musician by any stretch of the imagination.

O and I drew the toaster with the pen tool so there.

Thanks again for voting everyone and keep the comments coming good or bad.

This reminds me of a program that I have to burn CDs. It is called "Toast".

The cord is the best part, yet it makes so sense. Sorry.
