"In the still, coffee stained air. Styrofoam and cigarette butts spilling from the metal trash can by the door. A thin door that makes a weak tap as it closes. The trailer shakes from the overburdened airconditioner humming in the window. My plastic Barbie goods cover the dirty striped couch cushions. Men, big, booted, and blue shirted, come in and out, tap, tap. My grandma coughs cigarette coughs in between pleasantries. It seems disgusting coming from most people, but from her it’s a clean, sweet cough and her warm voice triumphs through the gravel. She laughs often.

She has dentures. I saw them in a glass in the bathroom during my evening bubblebath. i loved to spend hours in there concocting love stories between GEM and Ken, barbie and GEM, the twisted complex triangles that spanned the sexes and whiled away the hours. I had a whole host of smaller, generic Barbie prototypes, brunettes, blondes, men, my other grandmother had purchased from IGA along with a suitcase of tiny plastic tennis rackets, picnic gear, hairdryers, flower vases, polka dotted raincoats, platform shoes, ballet skirts, cameras, and minuscule reading materials. The dolls were never bored despite being sexually tormented. Gem had pink star earrings that glowed in the dark but her head was too big."

- So those are her words and I simply played off them to create a visual image of imagination. Do Ken and Barbie have skeletons (and if they did would they be baby blue plastic), do they cry, do they stare you in the eyes full of contempt or love and do they cough due to they nicotine addictions? Of course not, but we do.

So, just a fun and interesting collaboration to create something "wonderful".

This is unbelievably spectacular, haunting, reflective and truthful.
