I'm not a grammarian, but I think the conditional if requires a subjunctive were- as in "if I were an oscar meyer wiener" or "life would be sweet if i weren't a pebble"

I hate to break it to our grammatically challenged friend but according to wiki a pebble is a clast of rock with a particle size of 4 to 64 millimeters. Our skull lookalike is more the size of a cobble. I mean he's bigger than that fish in the sea!
