Great concept, but there seems to be some contention over the texture of the tractor beam... The shading you have on the bear is a good clue as to what's happening, but perhaps the silhouettes of the space ships could be bigger?

I assume the squiggles are supposed to be water, although it looks like something else, heh.
Id get rid of them all together and use something else more beam-like.
