zipperking on May 14 '08 thanks everyone! I got inspired when i was walking up to my condo one day and the sun must have been at the perfect angle because the sidewalk lit up with a million snail trails. It actually looked pretty awesome.

Is the Mona Lisa in Public Domain?
The external relations department of the Louvre Museum allows works of art contained in The Louvre to be reproduced with the following mention: "Musee du Louvre", the title of the work, and the name of the artist. If you would like more copyright information concerning art from The Louvre, please request by fax (33-1 40205452). I like the design, although the snail seems kind of big to me. That's just my taste. I prefer mostly subtle stuff. |

Just so we're clear on the copyright issue:
Modifications to a public domain work may be protected by copyright and cannot be used without permission. A famous example used in many copyright classes is of the artist who paints an elaborate hat and mustache on the Mona Lisa. Even though anyone is free to copy the Mona Lisa image, the modified image (with mustache and hat) is protected under the artist 's copyright. -from Stanford University Copyright & Fair Use overview. There shouldn't be any problems with getting this printed. |
