It's fun, but, if the message really is to join the unplugged revolution, this doesn't work. The earbuds are still plugged into your pocket, you just don't have them in currently. You're still sporting and supporting them. You'd might do better to have fists ripping a headphone's wire in twain, granted a revolution is the target.
