About my design

by Le Squale
It's always gratifying to work for a noble cause. Donating your organs can change lives forever. I , myself, am on a waiting list for a brain transplant, and thus particularly concerned by the issue.

Fir the design itself, I was thinking puff ink for the dotted lines, and scissors.

nice idea, could be executed better

It's a cute idea, but I'd like to see some more subtlety worked into the design, and some consideration to the size and placement of the various design elements. Neaten it up and it's a 5$ from me.

The donor card displayed is bigger than in the actual design so it'd be easier to read. As for the placement of the other elements, it's mother nature's choice not mine ; ).

maybe make the heart outline shaped like an actual heart. regardless, i think this idea is great.

I think they mean size it down a little and place it where they really are for instance my heart isn't almost up in my shoulders...I think if they were more realistic shapes it might work better

I think it's great as is.

This could be miscontrued as sarcastic/crude by people who are affected by transplant surgery -- but I think if you changed the position of the card to the front and changed it to say "proud organ donor," it would remove the "edgyiness" while adding a "duh -- you can't take it with you, so help someone else out" vibe.

I am affected by two transplant surgeries, and my only question is "Where's the pancreas?" I got a kidney and a pancreas...

I don't see this as at all sarcastic or crude, but I have a very light outlook on things. I can understand fouchnickens' concern, though.

I love it. Simple and well executed, and like almost anything else in the world there will be people offended by it, and that is there problem. Well done.

To tell the truth, I wanted to back both horses with this one : being 'sarcastic' about a sensitive subject and not being 'offensive' by making the design look quite unrealistic anatomically speaking. I guess that's why so many of you find that's something's lacking from it. Maybe I should've taken sides after all.

I don't think it's offensive. I like it. I just wonder if the scissors should also be seen in front of the organs.

cute... "in case of need" sounds kinda awkwardly worded, though.

Maybe a fleshy brown/red color for the shirt instead of black.

Good concept, though.

I like the card on the back but it is too high. If only a corner was coming out as if it were coming out of your wallet pocket.

There's no need for "in case of need, cut..." - The scissors take care of that.

The reason why I suggested the phrase "proud organ donor" is that to me the expression of emotion (pride) humanizes the sarcasm, and can diffuse any "offensiveness" by tying the wearer back to the message. It's the bit-o-honey to engage the viewer, regardless of their position on the subject, without having to do a major rehaul.

All and all, it's a strong design in the tradition of "propaganda/political" artwork, and your instinct not to be literal in your depiction of the organs was correct in my view.

I'd love to see this t-shirt get printed just to get folks talking about organ donation -- I had a friend die while on the list to receive a kidney and liver transplant.

I personally like the whole deal. the playful arrangement and depiction of the organs help to say "I believe in something but im not a nazi about it."

~in hindsight id lose the flavor text in the tag box and resize it to just say donor
