I'm not too sure about the white patch but other wise, fan-tabby-dozza-tastic

yeah, that white patch.... hmmmmit'd be cool if you had some type of niffty-ness happening in there, maybe gold foil fill, a supernova, more bushes.

no denying you are one of the best draftspeople on here. the composition is good, too, but for as much as i love looking at the drawing there isn't an emotional connection between the animals or to the audience so this ends up feeling very static and bland. i'm probably very jaded to what i think threadless looks for in a design but i think that as strong as the drawing is the lack of a stronger concept just kills this as a tee design

oh, yea, the white patch looked like a bite was taken out of the fox...see, that would've added a weird creative punch that'd take it somewhere else...

grayehound,
I apologize that there isn't an overt message to the shirt, the themes I work with in my fine art work are about the mutation of animal identity through human idealization or demonization of that animal. this design was taken from the traditional fox and the hound idea and meant to represent an unusual moment of stillness as the two creatures of the same canine family face each other, the mutation represented by their multiple eyes. I just didn't find it necessary to have any message clearly spelled out, I would rather people enjoy the image for whatever it is that they find in it

Lower left color scheme please, and $5. ...I know the fox and hound story but I still just like this aesthetically. Sometimes a universal meaning is *really* unnecessary.

you have a very unique fairy-tale-illustration style. I loves. $5

Just one quibble... the proportions of both the hound and the fox's heads are incorrect. They are more suited to rabbit proportions with those short 'muzzles'. On the positive side, I love your detail work.

really, there's nothing to apologize for, especially to me. i just tried to offer an honest crit of your tee design. i appreciate your using this place to showcase your art because I really like having the chance to see it, but this site isn't about self expression of the artist, it's about self expression of the person wearing the shirt. my comment was based on what i think gets picked for print here, but i'm not one of the guys that choses, so you have to take anything anyone says with a grain of salt. it's nice work nonetheless.

thank you for your critique, it is something I will certainly take into consideration with my future designs, I didn't mean to sound rude, I just don't want it to seem that this work is thoughtless, I just don't tend to put overt messages into my work, be it illustration or fine art.

I like the brown background best. I would work on cutting down colors. 8=an expensive shirt, so the less you use the better. The pink for the noses seems like you could use something else. And on the brown (which is my fav) maybe you could use the shirt color for the dogs spots. Just suggestions, but I've loved all your submissions, and this is the best yet!

lovely. you employ a technique i love to see [and use a lot, myself], which is to let the color of the surface on which you're working play a very prominent role in the composition. also, really liked the thoughts behind your work, as you expressed above.

Your illustrations are exquisite. Almost wasted on a t-shirt.
You need to illustrate a book.

i see people are getting hung up on the background color. the composition is great, but perhaps that concern would be addressed by changing the background color, so that there is less contrast between it and the shirt color. maybe use a tint of the shirt color. again, nice work.
