Ste7en on Apr 22 '08 Great piece of art here. From the hand crafted textures to the colors and composition its all nice. My one small gripe is the faintness of the cage. I feel it needs to be strong to emphasize the mood, and concept overall. It doesn't need to be overbearing, but a real physicality to it would drive it home, and it doesn't hep that the bird actually isn't in the jail. As is, its still a 5, because its a minor issue for a major accomplishment.

i think he made a wise choice as the song and inmate are more important than the actual imprisoning device. i think people imprison themselves with all kinds of things and the dotted outline of the cage only suggests that this is one type of prison. i may be wrong. i 5'd it. |

my original rationale was to add the element of the cage in a more stylish and fantastical manner, almost like the cage isn't actually their, it's in his mind... and the music is the only thing that stops him from being completely enveloped by sadness! a gold foil or slightly darker embroidered pattern would suffice to make it stronger, i think i like the cage not wrapping around him but would be willing to change it if required:D |
