Why are their mouths tied shut?

I am confused in many ways.

Oh yeah i didn't even notice it looked like that - they are actually those ties that Japanese chefs wear... (techinicak term anyone?)

i will add one - i'm not sure i get this, or its message, but i like the coloring on the male whale.

So the whales are japanese? You should just lose the sushi chef ties altogether. Aside from not making sense, they ruin the design.

As for this design, I like the simple 2d shapes. The whales look concerned that there is a bloody skull and bones on their table. I can understand that it could be anti-whale hunting cause they are getting their revenge. But there must be other ways the illustrate that. Nice shirt!

You can't say "who says it's Sepposed to make sense" in reference to the head band things and then give us an explanation. The whales mouths are tied which distracts from the message that the whales are eating people. Not that the message is great anyway.

i mean in reference to the 'actual' design - does it have to make perfect sense in order to have a message? fn hell talk about anti environment... anything with a message on this site just gets blown out of the water. why would i lose the sushi ties when the whole point of the t-shirt is being against japanese whaling yes the whales getting their revenge......... ffffffffek.

uhm, yes we do watch the news and know what is going on in the world however there are distractors in this design that take away from your "message".
