About my design
by oe oe
I've been a huge fan of Threadless for quite some time and today I got my first tees delivered home - both of which of course were amazing! I was so excited that I found the courage to submit a print of my own.

The inspiration for this design is of course quite obvious. I wore a hand-made version of this (on a white tee) to a music festival last summer and was gladly surprised with the feedback from total strangers.

Hope you guys enjoy it as well!

Cool but I don't get the scatter pattern of the dots. I feel like they should come up from the ground...

Thanks for the comment, reuben -- I see you mean. I guess I used my freedom as an artist and focused more on the feel and the look of the design... I think the contrast between the colours of the ground and the silhouette works best when simplified like that.

not sure that from a distance that silhouette would look like anything more than a black blob.

The dots are what you want them to be, Wozzy. Just adding a touch of abstract art to it all..

Wikipedia tells us that it's one of the most iconic images of the 20th century.. With that in mind, Indiesigner, that has to be more than just a black blob -- even from a distance ;)

i recognized marilyn of course, i am simply saying that from a distance, it might be hard to tell, maybe some soft lighting or white detail lines would make it stand out more.

either way, it's your design and your decision, best of luck to you.

The Dippin' Dots remark is quite spot on :) We don't have that here in Finland, so I had to google it to see what you guys meant... Hope it doesn't spoilt it for all of you from the States :)
