About my design
by rpolich
I will upload a larger image, as this turned out smaller than I wanted it to in this format. Three colors plus glow ink on dark gray. Lights on shows you abstract headlight swooshes, lights off shows you the flipping car that made them.
All comments welcome. Enjoy!

it's really really cool... is it technically possible though? would lights off be what it would look like in day time because my limited understanding of glow ink suggests that it only glows when the lights are off? so the light streaks would only be visibile in the dark... the only other small niggle i have is that i'd like to see the car get more damaged as it gets closer as if it's rolling down a cliff... but awesome idea...

hehe although if the CARS were in glow ink... still damage would be nice hehe

The headlight design is perfect and hypnotically accurate. I love how you have the cars positioned in fantasy psychics world on the tee and having both parts of this design being partially seen in either day or night only adds to its appeal. It's like a slow motion impact light show.

did you happen to see the installation at MASS Mocha a year or so ago? it's of a car flipping through the air like the one on your shirt. You should check it out!

I really like it, but I'd like the day/night reversed. Make the headlights the ones glowing and I'd have to have this.

great use of the GITD ink! I'd buy it.

thanks for the comments, everyone! and scottyp, having the headlights glow was my initial thought, but i decided i liked the mystery of having the abstract light streaks on the shirt visible most of the time. then when the lights are off, the car is revealed.
and no, mega-bucks, i haven't seen that installation, unless it's the same one up in the Seattle Art Museum lobby right now (which was indeed a source of inspiration).

here's a link to a bigger version of the illustration, if you're interested:

I really love this design. It reminds me of my photography style. With the excellent uses of lines and the overall composition of utlizing the space is excellent.

I'm starting to like this even more, but now that I stop to think about it, you haven't made a realistic match between the flipping car and the lights, have you?
If you look at the two closer car frames, the car was supposed to be showing its underside in the last one, not the roof.
I was just wondering... your design is great anyway!

I'm torn. It's an amazingly well-executed and well-thought out design. But I don't really go for glow in the dark ink. It's a nice idea, but am I supposed to turn the lights on and off to show the design? I would so give this $5 if there was a way you could integrate the design into a single image w/o glow-in the dark.
