About my design

by metameta
For those who have a desire to share their passion for ideas. This will print 6-color (blue/orange/warm red/cream/yellow/gray) The gray color is screened at 100% and 60% to create the base of the bulb. All of which looks smashing on a brown shirt!

Maybe a little bit bigger?

I dunno, it looks good as is though.

light bulbs are such an overused/cliched image to represent ideas. if you're going to make a design where the primary focus is a lightbulb you really do have to try very hard to make it original - as if you're renovating an old idea. this sort of falls flat conceptually although the way you've constructed it is pretty much good (composition wise though there is a problem with the way the actual bulb fits into it's own socket, a bit lop sidedly)

there was an onslaught of bulb designs a few months ago because of a specific "loves threadless" contest so users who frequent here a lot have seen bulb after bulb after bulb, and that will probably lower your score too.

ginette's a hater, an average rater of 0.60!!

Essentially good graphics but Threadless needs more.

woohoo i've got a lower rating than you - so what - at least my comment was both helpful and gave the designer some information unlike yours bigron82. 'threadless needs more' is an empty comment. i mean jesus, give the guy some pointers! what does 'more' mean?

or maybe you didn't care to elaborate because i basically said it all in my comment, and you're too afraid of being hated to give real criticism...

I actually appreciate any/all comments. I really believe light bulbs are WAY overused. By substituting the filament with a flame, I thought that might be different enough that people would dig it. Forcing old "technology" into newer "technology" so to speak. As for the comment "needs more" - while it isn't explicit, it does tell me that there are people out there that are looking for a more complicated/layered look. Perhaps this looks too much like a logo and not enough like a shirt graphic...Anyhow, both of my submissions are my very first (I have two in the running now) so I'm chalking it all up to a learning experience. :-)

Simple and clean, I really like it. The color scheme is beautiful. If you decide to go for more detail and/or layering, keeping within this colorscheme would look fabulous.

eh... sorry, but it looks like a logo for a company, not a t-shirt design.

i agree it's a simple, clean image, and nice design... but not something i'd buy on a shirt. good luck tho!
