I like the idea a lot - but I don't really get what the shapes stand for ...

What's with all the weird shapes? Any meaning to them?
EricDiaz
EricDiaz on Mar 27 '08
The shapes make the 'daytime' shirt more interesting. Otherwise it would just be a boring outline. random shapes ftw!

very northern-hemisphere-ocentric.

EricDiaz on Mar 28 '08
thanks guys, pilloweater that's the reason why i didn't go for the wrap around option. Sunshine, i can't do anything about that! Maybe i should have added Antarctica? I tried it but that seemed to flatten out the bottom too much, oh and there are no lights down there.

Can they print a blue-yellow glow-in-the-dark ink gradient?

I suppose it's not going to be popular with penguin research scientists - oh well. $5

I like it except for Greenland... it doesn't look like Greenland. Maybe try to do something about the Great Lakes as well...

There's no gradient the glow ink is made up of hundreds and hundreds of little dots, see BIG version above.

great idea and very effective delivery...just how design should be. also the first glow shirt I've seen that isn't lacking something in either state - both designs delivering a great look without the need to run between a light and dark room so people understand your 'clever' tee.

i like it how new zealand is in the thumbnail

No...I didn't think there was a gradient - I was just thinking that both colors of GITD ink would look cool. And no one's done a glow gradient.

Nice to see that you finished this up! Very cool. I just realized the obvious but it'd be awesome if the shapes were different types of light bulbs. Still a 5ver.

I would have preferred Peters Map Projection but this design still looks nice.
Wrecka
Wrecka on Apr 02 '08
great idea. I would have rated it a 5 if the lights actually matched what you would see from space. For example, much of he United States is rural and is not illuminated at night.

EricDiaz on Apr 02 '08
^The lights do actually match what you would see from space. If you compare the BIG version posted above to my reference you will get a better view. The presentation is glowing more because it's scaled with an outer glow. Having said that, i may have overdone it a little!
