There is only one very obvious rule if you want in to the ‘A la Moustacha’...

Isn't there another Threadless shirt exactly like this?

yes

Probably because there are dozens, if not hundreds, of rip-off designs for every good concept that is posted. How many octopi, squid, pirate, butterfly, swirly ghost designs have you seen? Threadless is rife with rip-offs. Having said that, I have not seen a design exactly like this before. It's fine.

There was one very similar - with names of the facial hair patterns...

yup, it's a good idea and I'm not going to even suggest the idea was stolen, just two minds, same idea. Because no one would be foolish enough to rip off a design printed at the same place they're submitting to.

lol at Papaprime: "no one would be foolish enough to rip off a design printed at the same place they're submitting to." when this day comes, humanity will be a better place:P

i prefer Jeremys design, also Pixtoons just because there are similar concepts or designs here doesn't automatically make them rip-offs.

hadn't seen the other design before and don't really care that it exists, other than to say, now that i've seen it, i like that one too.

no prizes for second place i guess. thanks for the critique.

Eric- Are you saying there haven't been any rip-off designs? I've seen too many to know better.

i like the other one better

No, that's not what i'm saying. Of course there have been rip-off designs but having the same concept doesn't automatically make it a rip-off. I usually search Threadless and Google before starting a new design because you never know if someone has already done it first.

take off the hitlet stache, especially don't make it the first one. I would have 5$'d it if that wasn't on there. But I'm giving it a zero instead

obviously not going to get a good vote (but I don't think it's a rip, just too close), but it did make me think of sherlock holmes and that is always good!

I agree with gennybear, that first moustache is so blatantly offensive and degrading...(because Hitler was the first and only person to ever have a moustache like that)

You can't have a design up for scoring here if it's been printed on a t-shirt elsewhere.

i have been doing some research on the phenomenon of two people having a similar idea. turns out at least 9 other people have had this idea...

but this one's my favourite. not a single original idea amongst them...

note that it also seems almost impossible to do a design of facial hair types without including the hitler mo. and by the way, at least one other guy owned that style of mo, Inspector Blakey from 'On the Buses'... http://www.onthebusesfanclub.co.uk/photoalbum8.html

so yes, i guess i see everyone's point.

At first glance I thought it was a Freddy Mercury society. I'm a little sad that I was wrong.....

hey, whatever.
it's still a cool design.
it reminds me of a game i used to play with my friends in school called " who can think of the most facial hair designs".
haha. it didn't seem like a weird game at the time..

That's not a Hitler moustache, it's a Charlie Chaplin moustache.

peterjanes on Mar 30 '08
Chaplin had it first if anything Hitler's is a rip off of Chaplin's.
This tee isn't a rip off someone just beat you to the punch. Better luck next time.

I'm pretty sure this exact tee is for sale on another website. I just saw it a few days ago but can't find the link :-\ I swear it was the same right down to the colors.
