You should explain about the poppies...

This is gorgeous and a brilliant statement. $5

poppies are wild, passionate flowers,
i was just thinking of some of these old movies, when film directors could not show how people make love, but use suggestions...
so, here is a sensual and slightly sad lover after long good byes :)
i don't know,... something like that

Hmm...and I was thinking it was a WWI reference "In Flander's fields the poppies blow..." John McCrae. If you don't know it, look it up - it will add a dimension of meaning to your work that you might be able to build upon.

not to mention the Memorial Day cloth poppies, mostly for WWII vets, that we wear in the US (and the UK, and I think Canada). Алёна, I think you have made a hugely successful antiwar statement, whether you meant to or not. :D

berrynoir,
i just found the song and the lyrics,
really beautiful,
thank you, a very valuable historical reference.

"Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!"
it does give it a whole other dimension.

It's great. I really like it in orange. It's the first war/statment shirt that I have really liked in quite awhile. As a reservist who is about to deploy, I would love it if this one got printed. $5$

You tapped into something ...
Poppies and fallen soldiers are historicly and symbolicly linked.
Here is anothe one:
Как нас черным огнем косило
В той последней слепой атаке...
"Маки, маки на Монте-Коссино",
Как мы падали в эти маки...
It's about Polish troups in WWII

something about the composition of her head and the poppy. i want it covering a bit less of her, it feels awkward.

i like this a lot. the only thing that threw me is the poppie that's in the foreground sort of looks like it's on her head at first glance.

i actually live in Belgium, about 1 hour from the Flanders Fields, it be a great shirt to wear here, people would immediatly get the deeper meaning.
But i think her heads needs some work, it looks a bit weird.

I love that the girl is from the silent film era. The big eyes of those girls really spoke lines without the use of words. Marvolous.

I like this shirt on blue. It has a deep message, and despite it being a bit sad, it also is kind of peaceful. I can't explain it though, but I hope this gets printed.

I think this is very beautifully done. My first thought was to the poppies and their connection to Remembrance day and mostly WWII. I didn't see their use as a suggestion right away, but having that explained makes it even better. I think it's cool that you chose the poppies without knowing about their other associations (and then having it work so well within your theme). I vote the blue or white t-shirt and I think the woman's face is perfect.

wow i thought this was deep because of the poppys but it was accidental. but still pretty darn good work gal. i would shift the big red poppy to be a bit further away from the head

thank you every body for support, great comments and references.

on my side: i would not say, it had no deep emotional intention at the beginning. it is about a moment of the departure of a loved one, when you don't know, when and if he will return.
but originally i did not thin of Flander's fields.
so, i am glad it has some additional meaning.

The flowers look great but something about the womens face scares me.

The base color used on the woman's face seems too heavy to me.
I'd love to see this design in black and white, with perhaps just the red of the poppies.
Very nice though.
