I also liked this design on the pink and yellow shirts. The softer, more feminine colors mixed with the subject matter made it all the more impactful.
beautiful... love it
i saw this in one of my design book, wif the same color and pic,
he is a plagiator, seriously!!dis design obviously same like in my design, the shading, blood and butterfly,!!omg!whats wrong wif dis...T.T
This shirt was my background and it was a threadless design this entire time!?
I really like this shirt. Did 30 sec to Mars stole your design or did you allow them to use it? They have a shirt almost identical.
Or does the design exist longer then you claim it to be?
No prejudice here, just wondering...
wow. you made a lot of money on a banksy piece
wow you made a lot of money on a banksy piece.
banksy? i like that guy.
i can only hope people are saying to him - "wow, you made a lot of money on jason byron nelson piece."
yea, probably not.
Hrrmmm.... I think I prefer the "30 sec to Mars" version. It's a little more refined. I preferred the way that the theme was carried through the male figure, whereas here, the girl is a little too crude for my liking.
perona 3 has a similar concept , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shin_Megami_Tensei:_Persona_3
where highschooler shoot self with a special gun called evoker to awaken thier self conscience to fight shadows in this funky babel tower during the midnight hour and also has symbolic butterfly throughout the story. it's really beautiful and i really loved it. i wonder if they got inspiration from this design or vice versa?
Please reprint a different color. Perhaps deep purple. I absolutely love this design.
hey jason, im reading so many people back talking this design or trying to find someway to point out why its wrong. I dont feel like its necessary to compare this to what someone else did or all of a sudden declare it a total rip-off. so what its popular and its been reprinted but that only shows that people truly like it and theres nothing you can do to change that. people coming on here just to say they dont like it is kind of pointless. its like they cant appreciate what an artist puts into the community just because they didnt have the chance to do something as great. i know you probably know this but i thought it should be said. keep doing what your meant to! nice work
This is crap?! Not the shirt i mean,But the plagiarism that is happening, This "shirt" was actually a BANKSY piece of art. the shirts great im buying one! but i think some credit should Be given to the rightfull artist. i mean its one of the pieces hes famous for.... although he was never in it for the money and love to piss of britsh government with Art. He still should be noted. :] in saying that thank you so much for making this intto a shirt. when i first became a fan i wanted a shirt of it :]
hey man... i gotta know.... you know this is a bansky piece and all that... people have been going on and on about it... and then you posted something with do your research... and i'm to lazy to do mine. So what would i actually find out about the whole dealio if i did my research?... Did bansky say hey take my design og somethin. just curious mate
I've searched, and can only find references to this design, and people calling it a Banksy with no citation. I've even found a few arguments over whether Banksy or JByron did it first. I can't even find anything suggesting a Banksy (or any other) version existed before December 2003 (most of these arguments seem to have arisen between 2006 and 2008), nor can I find any image that can actually be attributed to Banksy except for one - there's a print being sold along with other Banksy-ish designs. The image is changed a bit, as are the others including real Banksy designs, so I'm inclined to say that is not a legitimate source either and that the items they're selling are not licensed (they also have prints using other artists' names, but with tweaks to the original pieces; I will not link it here but it's pretty easy to find).
What I have seen the most, by far, is the shirt image at the top of this page more than once, with credit attributed to Banksy. Even if it was a Banksy original, why not use an image of it? Because it doesn't seem to exist.
As far as I can tell, people who say this is a Banksy are either confused or think it looks like it should be a Banksy. Neither JByron nor Banksy originated this drawing style, or even this stark aesthetic. I have a collection of posters dating back to the early 1960s that depict simple, darkened single-color figures with bright colorful accessories. One, I believe entitled "Growth", features a dark green girl letting go of a bright orange balloon. Ten years before Banksy was even born.
This is not a banksy piece at all you idiots.
Awesome job. Really smart concept. HowToGetRidofLoveHandles

Question! There is a thirty seconds to mars tee that has the exact same idea on it. The gun to the head and blood butterflys. http://www.play.com/Clothing/T-Shirts/4-/5446480/30-Seconds-To-Mars-Butterfly-Headshot/Product.html
So did you take there design or did they take yours orwas it a quincydense? Just wondering
does this have anything to do with the book, flowers in the attic?
I just got off the phone with Banksy and he would like a reprint.
This does look like Banksy's style, but it's not one of his designs. I wrote and asked him through his website. And he actually replied...
Thanks for your email.
Please allow us to settle the argument.
The design on the t-shirt you referred to is not a work by Banksy.
