Inspired by Japanese-style black&red paintings, this design features a samurai and and abstract environment.
The kanji reads "home" in Chinese.

i think what makes this different is the piece of land that he's standing on... most pictures i've seen that are basic standing behind the sun but i love the detail of the dirt and roots. great shirt! whatever they say dont change anything about it. it's perfect the way it is

Cool design, but I'm not sure why you used the character 家, unless you're saying that Japan is your home.
In anycase, I still like it.

I added the character because this is dedicated to all who feel like Japan is their spiritual home, the place that influenced their life, art, etc. and that goes beyond otaku and ppl who moved to Japan, or actually live in Japan.

Awesome shirt! And I like it on white, gives the image more impact (tho I agree it'd work well on any light colour). One thing though: wouldn't a Japanese character be more appropriate than Chinese? Or was that a typo?

i agree, if you are trying to say that japan is your home and you are using traditional images from that culture i would use japanese for the word home and not chinese. other than that its beautiful.

yup, it was my bad to add a chinese character. but since kanji originali came from China, it's somehow related. also, the character looked really in-tone with the style of the design, so I thought it's ok to leave it like that.

this is nice. i would certainly keep it on white. i think it would lose a lot of Japanese reference if it was on another color. I didn't even have to look at the shirt in full (I could just tell by the thumbnail) to understand that it was a Japanese reference. The color code is everything to this in my opinion.

well, that's the reason why i chose white in the first place; but, it really looks good on other light colors too, if the contrast is good enough and the red doesn't create a color conflict with that hue. thanks so much for your comment!

hmm, i did not knew about that site...and, it is a cool one, if zou can read Japanese:) I find it quite normal share that color scheme, after all, red, white and black turned into a cliche, nowadays. what i tried to do is get the best of it:) THANKS for the cool link

I don't look great in white, have you tried swapping the colors around?
Black or Red shirt would work just as well I think for the contrast you are looking for.

drkilljoy77, i tried some colors, it looks great on most of them, but, due to the fact that this is my first design here on threadless i wasnt aware that You can put your design on more templates, on different colors:) THANKS. Love you all...comment me:)

Go the roots and everything EXCEPT the damned splatter, waht the hell with splatter?!!

If you gotta have splatter do it in red all quilled like around the kanji... Otherwise very cool, would buy it...i think

Hehe sherbet...the splatter should suggest the dirty ground after a batlle, as does the red splatter under the sun. why black? to link it with the ground. but, nice suggestions for future designs, i ll remember:) thanks a bunch!

Gray looks great, in case it gets selected for printing, gray will be an option...and I ll have enough money to pay the rent and get a new pc monitor that is not TCO96 and does not kill my eyes:) talk about impossible happiest day:P
