Chengui on Mar 13 '08 I like your idea, but that glow ink would show up during the day, lessoning the dramatic impact. I also believe that it would cover up the parts of the copier that it is covering. Not sure, but I know it doesn't just magically appear. IT would still be seen. That being said, I still think it's pretty funny.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this as great use of glow in the dark.
I think glow in the dark is used perfectly when the print works also seen in the dark only. If someone doesn't see this with lights on, s/he won't propably get it. |

this won't work since glow ink is still, well an ink and therefore will overlap parts of the machine. a solution i suppose, would be to have mr ghosty beside the copier pulling up his trousers? also =, i think it'd be funnier if the ghost butts were visable in normal light. that's just my opinion though. nice idea though! $3

I'm not sure if the two images are combined well enough yet. Its a good idea but at the moment the shirt would just be a photcopier during the day and a ghost sitting in midair with his pants round his ankles at night. Or does the photocopier glow as well?
As it is I think it would work much much better if it wasn't glow in the dark at all. |

this idea is great, but i'm not sure i would even really know it was a ghost if i saw it glowing in the dark and didn't know the tee's title. the legs make it just look like a cartoony guy, to me.

To those who dont' like it because glow ink "lightly shows up in the daytime" or whatever, THE CONTEST SAYS TO USE GLOW INK. EVERY design will have that problem. I think it works better if the ghost is even just lightly visible in the daytime as well.

Chengui on Mar 14 '08 Olie, my point was that I was worried that the glow ink would overlap the copier lines, I don't think they can overlap and you would still be able to see under the glow in in the light. Personally I think it would be okay if you could lightly see the ghost during the day.

Laser Bread on Mar 14 '08 You needn't worry Chengui, according to Threadless specs...super glow is "very transparent" and has a "tonal clear effect" so lines under the glow show through. (If for some reason it wasn't transparent, the easy fix would be to place the copymachine layer above the ink.) Also, the ghost will be ever so slightly visible in the day. Which makes it really cool.

Laser Bread on Mar 27 '08 Tonteau, thanks for the comment...the super glow ink is very transparent and has a tonal clear effect. So it will be very faint on the shirt, but virtually invisible.

Tonteau on Mar 27 '08 Hey, LB. Hmmm....are you sure that's the case with super glow? Cos I have this shirt which uses super glow and the outlines are most definitely visible. I don't know if the ink has changed, but the old stuff would be fairly obvious. Kudos to you if it works, though.

Tonteau is dead right though, no way is GID ink invisible. I see you have the ghost image on the day slide ever so subtly, however, the ink would be more visible. But it doesn't matter because then the idea will also be communicated during the day, thus people won't be walking around with copy machines on their chests. And if ghosts are invisible, how would one copy it's butt? Kind of like if a tree falls in a forest etc etc... And Lastly! |

And yes, the ghost image is included on the day slide, it looks much more noticeable on my monitor. Thanks for the link :)

About my design
Design notes:
-6 colors, including glow ink.
-Cool halftone
-Shown here on light gray, but it would look great on any light colored shirt: white, cream, light blue, mint, yellow.
-Glow ink, although transparent, would appear very, very faint on the shirt when not in a dark room.
