About my design

by helmut13e
A Murphliner is a small (15-20lb) land mammal that feeds on fruits, mostly bananas and occasionally insects. Much like empire penguins, the Murphliner is very protective of their eggs and will go to unspeakable lengths when their eggs don’t make it to hatching. The females are well known for their thievery in late spring when they no longer have an egg to nurture. This illustrates a female Murphliner who has found a solution to her eggless nest, however the female Blue Roosler (member of the canary family) is also very protective and will retrieve her future young.

This design uses seven colors, I hope you enjoy it.

waaaay too complicated. however, nice illustration.

I agree with Scoogy -- the design must demonstrate the story without explanation.

I disagree. I like the illustration on it's own - I can a story in it without the explanation and although it's quirky, I really dig it. You're getting a fiver from me.

doctordan - you need to exercise your imagination, the content of this shirt gives my brain almost limitless possibilities as far as a story line goes. I love it.

I think it's very cute and I like the story behind it. I would never ever look at it and think "oh that must be a murphliner stealing eggs!" but I would think "oh it's a whale that easts bananas and is taking care of a bird's egg!" which is just as cute, so you get a 5 from me.

why does the land-whale have to trick itself with a banana?

When you say 'land-whale' I will assume you are referring to the Murphliner and yes he is a very lazy creature, who loves to eat :) I could just keep going with this story, feel free to add as you please, I'm looking for an ending to the tale. Thanks everyone for the 5's it's much appreciated.

OMG this is just like Shel Silverstein's illustrations...in the best way possible. It would suit one of his poems perfectly.

The whimsy is fantastic, I love it. 5$

I like the illustration a lot.

I don't need the story. I'm happy making up my own. (that had more to do with imagination, instead of natural science.)

Empire penguin = emperor penguin?

I'm so confused but I love this shirt :)

I love it because it seems so pythonesque yet in fact is based on a wildlife verity. People would see it and be completely bewildered and confused. But you, the wearer would know that your natural knowledge is just a step above theirs. And then, one day, A dark handsome naturologist comes up to you in the street, screaming "Oh my God! it's a murphliner! I can't believe this! Where did you get it?" And you will have made someone's day.

Totally worth the print!

i agree with wondrebread. some times the more out there or bizarre a design, whether it's something i'd wear or not, makes me like it a lot more. and this one is wayyy out there. don't take that as criticism, i'm hip to the bizarre! $555!!

I love when bizarre meets incredible. You, my dear, achieved that in spades. This is unbelievable. I'm anxious to see where your imagination leads us in the future. You are a talent. Period. 5$
