Urmm... so in this case all the time spent in critique and blogging about and otherwise promoting the design did... basically nothing... I don't get it. The critique was popular.
I also don't get 24 hrs as the cut-off point for the 1.5 rule -- I understand conceptually the idea of pulling items early, but is it really that harsh? Even today I know people who go *days* without checking their email.
I'm really not upset about the fact that it scored low, I just feel kind of ripped by only getting 24hrs to get votes. I received the email from them that says "send this to all your friends" when they approved it and actually went out of my way to promote the design elsewhere (deviant art, tribe, free-association, my tech blog, etc) and that effort's definitely wasted when they pull it after 24, but there's no way of knowing if it would have been wasted if they let it stick around. I'd really like to see the 1.5 rule extended to a minimum of 3 days like some of the other members, so that when someone puts a bunch of promotion into a design it's less likely to be wasted. The way it is right now it discourages me from promoting future designs outside of Threadless, which I don't think is the effect they want.
I personally really like this one, I did think the brown hair was cooler but I'd still really enjoy having this shirt... it's good to remember to hold on to your dreams and with all the things going on in the world, it's nice to have things around that are uplifting, that give us hope or just plain make us happy. :) and YES I think you got totally shafted on pulling it within 24 hours.. I've seen much imbalance in the threadless world of what get's posted/printed and/or kept for scoring, the number system does NOT seem to play as big of a part as favoritism does which I think is totally unfair. I say let them display for 48 hours straight NO MATTER what they score.. that's long enough for most people to log on and get a feel for it. Sorry that it was pulled, I really like the design. keep it up :) :hugs:
