Great design, interesting concept and great use of glow, but is the world ready for a serial killer shirt? Maybe you can do the Boston strangler, Charles Manson and Ted Bundy next. And maybe Dorothea Puente, too.

I love it. the lower placement is great. i am not a big fan of the glow ink. it seems alot of people really force the use of it when not needed, but i think your design really works! 5$$$$$

I just find it really surprising that people are so enthusiastic about a design that's celebrating a serial killer, but folks jumped all over the guy who submitted the design of the baby in the microwave. Granted, this shirt is artistically in a different league than the other shirt (even though he wasn't really criticized for bad design but content), but they both deal with the subject of murder, and in this case about murders that actually took place. Finding everyone's reactions strange.

Is it really celebrating, or simply portraying? I don't see how this shirt somehow glorifies or condones Jack the Ripper, just addresses the subject.
For that matter, without the title how is it even about a serial killer? If the title was changed to "Macabre Cameos" or something, then would it be ok? Uh-oh Sunshine, we're butting heads again. |

I do think this is celebrating Jack the Ripper, and I don't see how portraying everyone in cameos with cute casper the friendly ghosts coming out can be seen as anything else. You think this just addresses the subject? How about a picture of a mutilated disembowled woman with a slashed throat? I think that addresses the subject even better.
Ok, even changing the title, the knife is still attatched to the sinister looking man with the mustache and the women look sad and helpless. And why are they all ghosts? It's still a strange message. |

the presentation of the design by the creator "The Ripper is back from the Dead in SUPER-GLOW!" and the concept that Jack the Ripper is still trying to run around killing people after he's dead is glorification of the evil Jack the Ripper engaged in. Imagine a collection of silhouettes of victims of the hurricane Katrina on a t-shirt. Now imagine super glow ink showing them in danger of drowning again in the afterlife. Is that simply a portrayal of what happened along the southern border of America? Now imagine the designer put in big words next to it, "Katrina chases the dead in SUPER-GLOW!" case closed. |

first off, i heart cameos and old light posts. but even more than that, i am drawn to the mystery involved in the unsolved case of jack the ripper. this is a case that is still pushing the boundaries of CSI and also forced people to look at how they not only valued women but working women. it is morbid, true. but really it is your personal preference where to draw that line. do you write paragraphs about vampires? what about wars? anyhow, i think the art on this is amazing and the use of the specialty ink is clever.

bananaphone on Feb 24 '08 the only problem with this is that you cant just overlap glow ink on top of normal ink, you're going to have to cut into your own design which will basically make it look like there are white lines through bits of it.

Great colors One suggestion: make the space inside the top of the lamp post a slightly lighter shade than that of the portraits. It will look better, in my opinion, if only the ghosts are in the haunting blue. |

- the super-glow can easily overlap the first two color passes... it just takes a quick flash after the first two colors are printed, and then the super-glow pass gets printed! easy-peasy... with no line breaks in the wrought iron. Yeah! |

I find it extremely intriguing. I missed the headline, and it just reminded me a lot of the Disneyland Haunted Mansion portraits with the ghosts coming out to duel. I guess I concur that the title should have been different, but without that it is beautifully executed. 5$

I love love love the lampost and the use of glow ink.
