Designed in six colors, but they only need 5 inks depending on if they're printed on royal blue, black, or fuschia.

I'm glad Rob&Big brought me back to Threadless to finally submit after purchasing a number of shirts a few years back... this community looks awesome.

Yet another well done "realistic take on cartoon characters" sub, yet i feel like this one needs a small object or something else to push it over the edge to printing territory. Love who you got Stimpy's tongue hanging out. Maybe with a log in front of them and a piece of powdered toast? Still good stuff.

another version of characters in a more realistic form, not a very original idea on here. and the others were executed much better like the design of sonic and tails as a real hedgehog and fox.

I realized it wasn't the freshest of ideas... there's the Yogi Bear shirt that got printed that was total genius. However, for the Rob & Big contest, I can't imagine a better set of cartoon characters that had an actual best FRIENDSHIP (the Spike TV revamp going a bit too far).

I'm not interested in photo-realism, because that's not why we watch cartoons. As graphic designers, illustrators and artists, I think a lot of us WANT stylization.

I've also done some thinking on FrickinAwesome's post, about needing something else on the shirt. I think if I added more, we'd go on past these two characters into Spumco's MASSIVE host of secondary characters, which is beyond the ken of the 'best friends' theme. I think leaving it just the two of them conveys, in a simple blend of lines and color, an eediotic sort of friendship.

I'll definitely take the handful of intelligent criticisms to heart for future submissions, though! As for the rest of you, let's cross our fingers for a t-shirt that celebrates the forefathers of contemporary cartoon characters!
