littleclyde on Feb 19 '08 I really like the style and mood. It seems like maybe they should be standing on a sidewalk or path though, or someplace where a lamppost would be(unless it's Narnia?). The grass doesn't really anchor the image for me.

I'm a little torn: on the one hand I'm a huge Gorey fan and love his style, and therefore should love this... but it's a little too close for comfort for me. This goes from homage to rip-off in my book--especially since Gorey did a Neville cartoon...

BaronVonMonkey on Feb 20 '08 Haha- I don't really know Edward Gorey's work very well at all, alas! Someone said my style was similar on another sub, but I haven't really explored it further. If anyone can link me to something similar, please do. The font is one I use all the time, based on eighteenth century letterpress. But if this is close to something else, I do apologise.
Oh, and Neville, while being a rather comical name, is actually the name of my eldest brother- More of an homage to him, than anyone else! |
