Don't read too much into the title or description. You can decide for yourself what you think is going on here, it could be a number of things! Critiques please!

i think the shadows are pretty awful. you seem to be going with a fairly realistic style but your shadows are off. the cat's shadow doesn't follow his curves at all, and the dog's shadow is missing an ear, and the mouse's shadow is completely missing.

you really need to pay close attention to shadows when you choose to do them, especially when you're going for a realistic look because they'll often end up ruining an otherwise pretty drawing.

i would also think about toning down the opacity of these shadows. they are extremely dark.

That's pretty well said, Ginette. A really nice design with some nasty shadows. Otherwise, a good design.

I agree with Ginette and Arius. Very cool design, just with a few shadow glitches.

i would say take out the shadows and the surface that the plate is on and bring up the image more

I, personally, would get rid of the blue. You have such a nice scheme with the naturals, the greys, and the blacks. I think the dusty blue color takes away from it. The shadows could work if you improved their quality a little, but the design is so strong, I don't think it's really necessary to have the shadows.

I love that picture. That's why I bought it as a postcard a few years ago. How is it in those cases with the copyright?
