About my design
by Andreas Mohacsy
it is rumored that once every thousand years the great mimi spirits rise form their lairs in the humid desert breeze, float across endless plains, until finally reaching the great monolith... uluru (Ayres Rock)

here under the southern cross, upon a timeless relic, they embrace the dream time participating in a secret tribal kawabori. It's purpose, to appease the great southern land, bringing the blessing of good fortune upon all that inhabit her... that and to have a fair dinkum rip snorting night:P

8 colour design + gradients... could be cool if the yellow dots were printed with a gold foil or metallic ink.

back or front print, the design pops big time on a black T and has a really nice natural feel on grown (brown)

ps - any printing issues... just go the good old simulated process:D

I want a Poster of this for my wall! This is SO SO GOOD! The colors, the gradient, the pencil drawn dancers. It's all fantastic. Print!

yeah, i think it'd work without the cymbal, but this is wicked awesome!!!

Andreas Mohacsy on Feb 13 '08
hehe thanxxx kids... i tired it both ways and it works with both... and i obviously prefer it with the symbol... but if everyone thinks the other way i will take your opinions into account...

the funnest thing about this design was actually researching more about my brother aborigines who i share a dual love of the land with, their spirits and the techniques they actually employ to create their art, which is both unique and beautiful... here i've tried to give it a modern twist and make it my own, totally making it appealing for a new generation, unlike the dodgy old Australian tourism shirts...

thanks again

Looks awesome man! Not so sure about the cymbals, rock & lights... I think the creatures tell enough of a story themselves.

Otherwise, 'tis a true masterpiece 5 $

cool - if you want this and have a preference on the symbols let me know???

they were supposed to be a bit darker and less obvious but my monitors colour is a bit wack so what you gonna do

Dot figures & bottom audience feel disconnected because of their 2 vastly different styles. I like the way you did the slight gradient on the dot figures, and think they'd stand more strong ontheir own.

true mezo - i'm a fan of contrasting styles on a single image if it works and i think they are subtle enough to tell the story, perhaps their is a way to improve them, or to create a pattern using the same style but i think the rock adds enough of a segway to enable a smooth enough transition...

they also make a much smoother transition on the bottom of the shirt, but if you can think of a better way i'd love to her it:D

i feel like it would make a better shirt if you just had the mimi spirits and the ayres rock. so, no crowd, no satellite dish. nice work & good luck.

I think this is amazing but I feel the opposite about the symbols. I think they add alot making it appear more posterlike for the rock show of the century.

My favorite part though was the people/ dancers who are really butiful I would definatly go for an shirt just focused on these cause they are so artful.

Best of luck!!

Awesome design, man. Personally I really like the cymbal (at first I thought it was supposed to be a ufo :p), and as a whole I think you should keep the shirt the way it is.

Also, I agree, very Burning Man-ish.

im not so much into it, the elements just dont make much sence, is weird and pointless
Andreas Mohacsy
Andreas Mohacsy on Feb 17 '08
it depends how you look at it - but i assure you it does make sense in an imaginary context...

research mimi spirits, aboriginal art people and cultures, Ayres rock, and lateral thinking and you may change your mind.

does it have a real purpose, hmmmm it doesn't cure cancer, but it's art so it can help, the day we start saying every bit of art is pointless we are in trouble, in fact this has a lot more purpse than my other design you claimed to like

Fan flucking tastic! I'm REALLY digging the differences in style to the piece and the faded out gigantic ghostly drum cymbals really add a cool dynamic to it....nice work and rock on with you Patrick Swayze self!

Andreas Mohacsy
Andreas Mohacsy on Feb 19 '08
if thats the general consensus though let me know... the 3 figures would be cool on their own, but i also like it as it is...

i combined the different styles to tell a narrative, i think it's interesting, and if you don't like it that's cool, but it ain't awful cause it's not your thing...

just another interesting way to look at it
