My other submissions

This is intended to basically replace my first Freudian Pipe idea.

I finally tried my hand at Flash.

the pipe needs more work..it doesn't look so smooth. i don't get it though..what does it mean??

yeah i know, its all boxy. flash is hard, kinda.

it's kinda like a play on magritte, "ceci nest pas un pipe", and freud smoked a pipe i think maybe, and it sounded like "freudian slip"

now you know everything that went through my head

If you knew that your design needed more work why did you submit it now?

And now, seeing that you needed to spell out your thought process, should the idea, at least in its current form, be submitted at all? And no, I am not assuming the answer is "no."

the answer is yes. note the helpful feedback i get. it's an ongoing process you see.

also, i did not NEED to spell out my thought process. jisela didn't get it so i willfully responded. i thought it was fun to do, and not a necessity. i don't care if people understand my thoughts or don't understand them, or even care.

thank you.

sincerely,
me

i like the colours.. forget Flash. Learn to draw and fill paths in Illustrator or Freehand, it's the only way to get the kind of smoothness you need.

Cactusleaf, it would seem that you do care to some degree whether or not people care about your ideas, or you woudn't have submitted them here. It's hard sometimes to see the invisible and unstable line I'm trying to draw here and in other posts, but the processes of creating for yourself and creating for others is seperate sometimes.

So, no you didn't need to explain, but jisela needed you to in order to understand.

And yes, as long as you can be satisfied with your work in whatever the context is, then that is purely all that matters.

Do find the time to learn Illustrator or Freehand. Using Flash for a print file is like taking a knife to a gun fight. Instead of silk screening this, I could see the graphic as a felt iron on. Keep it up!

yeah cuatro, i see the iron-on potential
the iron-ons are all the rage in the Chicago scene hahaha

Anyway, I started fooling with Freehand today and I'm trying to get a copy of Illustrator. I'm not going to subit anything again for a while though. I think that would be wise.

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, and adam-t, you're right. I do care a little. I like to get reactions from people and see what people think. I don't care if they understand my reasons or thought processes or anything, just how they react.

thanks for your support and ideas. i totally agree with your ideas on sulf-fulfillment vs. creating for an audience. i like how this site can be a scribbling pad for bits of wisdom.
