try and choose a subject a bit controversial, or funny, or sad, or something, i've seen a few of your designs now (btw fish food, is so close), and i think most of them have the seeds of ideas, but you just need to add water, and a little more time. I'm sounding like a fucking know-it-all now, which i most definitely not.

oh and buy a wacom pen.

wow thanks so much man
i respect all of your work

this kind of advice is invaluable. i always have trouble putting emotion or meaning into art because i tend to like the irony of inane artwork. i'll have to work on that if i want to hold peoples' interest. i'm doing this for fun so i haven't put a lot of thought into it, but i will take what you've said! it's real encouraging.

haha i'm so happy you liked fish food. please keep commenting, i really appreciate it. and keep submitting. who cares if you post 13 at once, go for it.

the inane artwork i think is good, however you still have to remember that this is not so much art as design. it is being done for a company who inevitably want to make money from your work, so try to also think of things other people want as well as what you want.....becayse hey lets face it this is a competition right, you can't just win by satisfying yourself.

so artists can't work for someone looking to turn a buck? how bout a gallery directing an artist to maintain a certain style they believe will steadily sell? Is the work still art? Everyone has an agenda- we live in a society that lives to capitalize. We all gotta eat, anyway. Wasn't Michelangelo commissioned by the Catholic church to paint the Sistine Chapel? Didn't the Catholic church, of all institutions, have an agenda, ideas they wanted to preach (sell)?

why can't design simply be that enigma of our visual culture that resides at the intersection of art and business?? Why do we need to validate what we do, as long as it is creatively satisfying to ourselves?? why must Fine Art (a dubious term at best) be so different/ better than design???????

Keep in mind, none of this is meant to be absolute truth, just mental snackery for all the folks like me who think 2 much. And have nothing else to do on their lunch break.

.....enjoy

man there are some intelligent people out there. i wish i could meet some personally.
i love your theories steelballs.

PS: i thought the irony of this was that it's obviously not a baseball tee. it's a treason of words! still, still, i understand everything better now i think.

All about the wacom pen baby!
I like the idea, but I personally don't find it funny enough. However, if you laugh, and think it's great to wear, go for it. I own a shirt that says 'jumping is not a crime' and only 3 people are in on the joke, everyone else hates it. Do what you like. Not what everyone else does.

As for intelligence: ergo, declension, encumbrance

I can do it too.
