this is super rad. and hats off to your creativity and being innovative. but i just want to wear my shirt without going through all that jazz and having to go through explaining to people what's going on with my busy shirt. but then again, that's just me. i bet a lot others would be stoked with this idea.

Kudos for being able to pull of the presentation. The idea of using a decoder if far from original though, its used on far to many cereal/candy packages and is a rather effective way to entice kid-o's to eat sugar. I have issues with the fact that you can still see the face without the decoder and also that few people would understand the shirt as is. Good job trying to incorporate this idea into a shirt design :) It doesn't work for me, but its cool that it does for some many other people.

sonmi on Feb 02 '08 dcee- i'm pretty sure the decoder on this design is an homage to all those cereal/candy packages, which adds a fun nostalgic twist to the image. and you could always see the images without the decoder on those packages as well, but damn it, those decoders were still FUN to use!

But I dont understand, why does everyone love the design so much? Its pretty ugly if you ask me, what the hell is it? without the decoder thing it just looks like a bunch of warped floor boards or something with some random stuff thrown in. With all of the little print requirements I felt it best to be on a white shirt as some printing techniques require a fine mesh. Created using 7 mediums, simulated process would be required.
I have many combined ideas behind this idea, but didn't want to limit the meaning with an explanation. I wanted to leave it entirely up to interpretation. Feel free to leave a comment with yours.
