i thought he was playing a clarinet at first glance..
that would have been a better statement i think.. not a fan of soldier suicide.. not really a good message these days with a daily update on "fallen" soldiers overseas.. :( |

i thought clarinet too, something about "being different" or something. I was gonna make some wise-ass remark about him killing himself instead. I agree there are too many soldiers.

I like the tee. The human condition is what it is. I don't like it because soldiers are committing suicide. I like it because of the sugarcoated approach you have picked. Its not subtle, it is sharp. Its not poking fun, its raising a point.

Some of you are SERIOUSLY missing the point. All the talk about our fallen soldiers overseas is well off the mark. Its just a bunch of wooden soldiers in a line. I've got nothing but huge respect for actual real life soldiers. But I don't agree with war. Maybe subconsciously I've drawn what I'd be thinking if I had to fight in a war. I'm all about peace and love. "Disgusting" is a bit harsh.

Regiment and order overtake the human condition in military circles, often the unit are more important than the individuals and as a result the mentally scarred are overlooked. I realise I am overcooking it, but thats what I see. So be it a gun or clarinet is resonates with me

Yeah, a lot of people or here tend to take things WAY too seriously. There were quite a few comments on my first 2 designs in which people said that they didn't like the designs because they 'look really dangerous'! LOL

Why are so many people taking offense??? I'm sure kids all over the world manipulate their toys into different stances. I don't understand why this is being interpreted into being something really bad. Would it make you all happy if I drew a small musical note above his head??? Well I ain't doing it. Make of it what you want.

FRICKINAWESOME on Jan 31 '08 Gingermonkey, have you seen at all the kinds of designs that are printed on this site? Most people don't take a wooden soldier blowing his splintery brains out as something shirt worthy here. It's not a particularly eye-catching design either. I also thought he was playing the clarinet, which takes this tee's message from sorta shocking to cute.

FRICKINAWESOME, if your designs were in the slightest bit "awesome" then I'd actually give a shit about your comments. This design took me about half an hour to do and a friend suggested I put it up on here. If you don't like it, score me a big fat ZERO. I'm just enjoying reading the comments from dicks like you.

subject matter aside, the design is kind of plain. it's the same little dude copy and pasted, except for the one. oh, and after reading your comments here, i'd say you're the dick not FA.

lol@ me?? If you must. Maybe I was a bit hasty in calling FRICKINAWESOME a dick. I'm sure he's a really nice guy deep down. I hope I've not offended anyone. I can see the headlines now: "CONTROVERSIAL BRIT CAUSES STORM OVER T-SHIRT ROW". Come on, its just a very simple design that I was curious to see how other people would react to. At least it got noticed for whatever reason. Laugh at me as loud as you like. Maybe my next t-shirt should be a really nice design with flowers and rainbows on. I just want everyone to get along, man. Peace x
