compositionally, the figure should be looking the other way. if there's a person in a design/illustration our own eyes tend to follow where their eyes are looking, and right now it's making me look off the t-shirt. What you would rather have is the onlooker looking at the rest of the design like the lovely swirls you got going on here. by flipping the character horizontally our eyes will travel around the t-shirt with his rather then off.
i don't think that you have to flip the character, the design in the background is dominant enough with its colors.
i really like the style and color choice, but as rAmpantDesigns said, the figure kinda doesn't fit.
Yeah i was hoping the kinda rough character would compliment the intricate patterns.....As for the looking thing, sounds like a good idea but i kinda wanted him turning his back on the pattern....AND THE WORLD!!!
It kind of looks like this old guy walked out of his house to get the newspaper but found a skateboard instead. "What's this?" the old man asked as he picked the skateboard up off the grass. Meanwhile a bunch of skate hooligans were in his house stealing all of the old man's toilet paper and ketchup.
