How many people do you know that still listen to cassettes? Maybe if you changed the date on the...ring? I can't really tell what that is. Other than that, great job, though.

i know very little about art on Jan 22 '08 Thanks eyedewtwo for the suggestion, you're right that's a ring and it just tells people the date when these stuffs got buried. Cassettes are the endangered species nowadays but i think they represent a music era to me, just my personal point of view:)

nice illustration. would have been great with an ipod instead of a tape? and yeah, ear phones can be used with all devices... however if you were going with the "tape" era theme then those skinny, flat metal headphones with foam ear phones would have been great. :)

I think the cassete itself makes a strong enough correlation to the time period in music you're thinking of (which can't possibly be 2008, I don't believe any audio tapes were produced in 2008). So ditch the ring and the date and let the cassette speak for itself.
