It's kind of part of it, though not necessarily required. Part of the contest details stated "forget what sells, forget about making everybody "get it," make it weird and artsy" and I more or less saw this as an opportunity to try something completely new for myself. Since the majority of my designs thus far have been created based solely on fairly simple concepts i found humorous. I guess in terms of printing, I wanted to use a palette of colors not seen very often around these part, and on a very under-appreciated shirt color. I used up the 8 color limit, which includes the dark purple as a semi transparent ink. Which I believe is possible. I briefly contemplated the use of purple foil, but felt it would be too distracting. Though the idea of embroidery intrigues me |
