This looks like the illustrations of Marcos Chin by which I mean it looks overwhelmingly gay.

d3d on Jan 21 '08 lisseteb not understanding and just enjoying it visually is the concept. i deliberately used different languages so nobody would understand it all easily. the point is to make the viewer a foreigner with no choice but to look and wonder, reducing it to a purely visual experience.
and ngazin i've never heard of marcos chin but from what i see on google his stuff is pretty nice. |

my only criticism is that the sign on the left with all the text weighs that side of the design heavily and it's a little dark. Maybe lighten it up a bit. Even so... $5!! I love it.

So I love this. I said it when it was up for preview and now I'm here to register my 5$. I don't think it's weighted wrong cos of the sign, you have the little swirlies blancing everything out and the guitar in the foreground really pulls your attention up to the couple. Reminds me of your old one "Nowhere to Run" a bit with the alley, but different, obviously, but better too.

You can sense the incredible sexual tension between them, I mean the way they are both orally fixated. And look at that guy... he friggin' quit busking because he's that into her. Or maybe because he broke that guitar string. Guess the next best thing is suckin' a toothpick and chatting up an Uma Thurman stand-in. Personally I find the spanish (?) text distracting from the great drawing but I like all the extra details you added.
In summary I shall award you wish a gold star and a "FANTASTIC!" sticker with a laughing showdog. PS. Are they Puerto Ricans? |

oh no, Russian on the front? I may have to buy this just on principle...although it isn't a direct/correct translation, but still... what are the other languages? French (I assume) and..?

Wait, shouldn't it be zagadko-eto instead of zagadko-zto in the Russian? i.e. should be a "Э" instead of a "З" - look very similar, but one says "e" and ones says "z"! Having said that, I'm not 100% sure myself... it would really suck if this got printed with such a tiny mistranslation though....

Just checked - yes, it's definitely meant to be "Э" there. I hope the mistranslation was fixed before this got printed! :( Otherwise I couldn't possibly buy it after all - my Russian-speaking friends would just laugh at me for buying a shirt with mistranslated Russian. It's like those non-English-speaking people who wear weird English text on their shirt and it looks so weird... anyway....
