The messgae here is great and meaningful and although I am not a fan of the execution (clean vector styles bore me) I applaude you for going outside of the humor realm you so cling to. 4

I was thinking "oh great, not another polar bear-ice melting shirt" but this is way cool. I love it. I second "Andreas Mohacsy" - have the melt's edges blueish like water?

Odd that polar bears are actually thriving in current conditions.

If this is not a shirt about global warming I will give you a high score, but if it is I will lower my score. I withhold my vote until further notice. Stellar drawing though.

awesome design. don't mean to knock on genius, but it seems that your latest designs are lacking a backdrop, so that while amazingly executed, they seem a bit static.
it's gorgeous and relevant anyhow.

Beautiful design, but the 'message' is nothing but ridiculous Global Warming hysteria/mythology. I suppose tree-huggers with no capacity for critical thinking will like it, though -- so if that's your target audience, have at it.
Kizoku
Kizoku on Jan 18 '08
Ridiculous, and demonstrably false. I've left plenty of nice comments -- and since you obviously didn't notice, I said this was a beautiful design. I merely rejected the 'message.' Grow up.

Permafrost Pollution already covered this base, but you've draped another layer over that base with such a well-done version that trumps that older stand-by of Threadless. Good serious effort from you. 4$

cool design man, very nice and relevant.

Kizoku your notion that tree huggers have no capacity for critical thinking is ridiculous and demonstrably false. I'd say one sign of maturity is knowing that blanket allegations aren't good for anything besides preaching to the already converted and for making yourself look simple minded to the the non-believers(the ones you need to make a good impression on if you really believe in your cause), so maybe you have a bit of growing up to do heh?

And the global warming thing, real or not, has WAY to many variables to consider to actually prove absolutly true or false(we have a hard enough time just predicting the weather with all it's variables). One thing I know is that recent data shows a greater relative temperature increase than at any time in analyzable history, which tells me it's not just part of the earth's normal temperature cycle. There's something causing it and I'd like to hear what you think it is.

Sorry for the rant everyone else(especially glennz), I just can't resist bagging on such blatently derogatory bloggers.

Kizoku
Kizoku on Jan 21 '08
TheDood: There are two key flaws in your argument. One of them lies in the phrase 'analyzable history,' which is a period of time so short as to be completely meaningless. The other lies in the simple math, which proves the Earth is currently cooler than it has been at many points in the past -- some of them IN the period of 'analyzable history,' including within the last century.

Bottom Line: I couldn't care less if you want to believe in Global Warming. Go ahead. You can believe the sky is falling too, if it makes you happy -- but I'm not buying any paranoid junk science just because you and Al Gore do.

I still say the design is beautiful, even though I don't agree with its 'message' -- and I reflected that with my vote. I'm quite sure all the True Believers (like you) will be happy to buy this shirt.
TheDood
TheDood on Jan 21 '08
i don't have anything solid to refute your first point on analyzable history, but i was under the impression we can go back to at least the last ice age if not further. on the second point - it doesn't matter what the current temperature is... what's important is relative temp increase over a period of time. i'd think someone with such a capacity for critical thinking would understand why.

either way it's very unnecessary to make demeaning and stereotypical accusations in a blog like this and i get the feeling you've realized that. being what you'd consider a tree-hugger i felt obligated to defend myself.
