Lights on... "BANG!"?. Lights off, see the Solar System. Comet and black hole included. I hope you like it.

It's interesting, except a Bang there would be the destruction of Earth (that's where I keep all my stuff!)

eladear on Jan 13 '08
The idea is based on the theory "According to the Big Bang model, the universe developed from an extremely dense and hot state. Space itself has been subsequently expanding, carrying galaxies (and all other matter) with it." (via wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang).

When lights are on, the shirt displays only the "bang", and when lights are off you see our solar system. So the bang isn't destroying the earth, it is giving life. The concept of course is more stylized and less techy, but connected :)

If the 'bang' didn't look so clip-art, I'd like it more.

Not so sure the "Bang!" graphic is strong enough to hold its own...which would be most of the time during wear.
eladear
eladear on Jan 14 '08
The bang was inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's artwork, the comic style pow, bang, pop!

The "bang" will be accompanied by the circular outlines in white. So it will have more than the bang. Sorry I probably wasn't clear with my explanation. The glow in the dark ink will overlap, doubling the circle outlines. So in both phases you'll see outer ring outlines.

The only problem i have with it is that the big bang obviously did not occur in the center of our solar system. Most like not even within our galaxy.

If there was band with amazingly drawn galaxies or random stars around it i would like it more. It just looks like your trying to depict incorrect science.

Thanks for your feedback. This is a t-shirt design...there is stylization, simplification of elements. If I added other galaxies or all that exists, I would need a larger canvas to work with. The idea is there about the "big bang", the rest I leave up to each person's imagination to see the expansion of space :)

If you include Pluto, you must also put in Ceres and Eris, the other two dwarf planets. And to be honest, I really dislike the inclusion of a random comet (at least attribute it to someone like Halley) and the black hole it doesn't fit the scale of the design at all).

Awesome. I'd buy it too!

you should have charted it the way the ancient summerians charted the outer rims of our solar system. WHERES NIBIRU? you know, planet x. "the annannaki have come to enslave us, to mine gold to preserve their atmosphere for their 3600 year journey into the out realms of space."

lol

id buy it 5$

Pluto is already included in the design, viewable on the t-shirt graphic. But I can include Ceres and Eris. As for Planet X, it seems like there is still a search for it...so I'd have to review the design, see if there is a way to incorporate it or not.

Thanks for everyones feedback.

This is the first glow and uv ink design that I really like: well done!

I must say it's a rather "small bang" tho.. ;-)

like the simple design of the solar system, would buy if it didnt have the bang at all.

Thanks for pointing out the Big Bang dynamics on Jan 13. Now, should you be showing it occurring in the general center of our solar system where all the (present day) objects I like the most are held in place by the gravity of good ol' Sol? (Sol that's one sweet sun, eh!) Yup, I agree with hasbadtaste on Jan 17 '08 , I would prefer w/o the Bang at all (clever, though).. ;-)

Love it! Suggestions for minor improvements: Remove the comet, the black hole, the little red star shapes around the sun, and the text "BANG!" (The text really isn't necessary, is it? Without it, your design is simply 'Day & Night' views.)

And don't bother to include Eris or Ceres, either. The Nine Traditional Planets are quite sufficient, and all those nit-picking astronomers can just go twiddle their thumbs.

yeah. agreed. the planets didn't pop out of the big bang. and neither did the sun. the sun was formed from when a hot, gaseous cloud got warm enough for nuclear fusion to occur about 4.6 billion years ago. The Big Bang is believed to have occured 13.73 billion years ago. Once again, I've lost faith in the American public school system...
