Lovely! I wonder if you even need the ball dreaming, you could just have what is in the bubble and I think it would be okay too.

Maybe have the smiling ball on the back under the cat asleep?

with thought bubbles trailing to the front?

I'd say keep only whats in the bubble, but i love the contrast, especially because the sleeping ball doesn't have arms/legs.
