ginetteginette on Jan 02 '08 i think it's really great but the linework on the clock really bothers me, it seems a lot thinner than any of the other lines in this drawing.
actually the whole clock just bothers me, i understand how this is an homage to a photograph and to dali but i think this would be stronger without it. also i think if the chair were moved to the other side of the table this would work better compositionally, because right now the chair and the boy occupy the same amount of space and are placed on the same horizon line. it's awkward |

if i wore this shirt, i wouldn't tell anyone it had any meaning. in addition, i think it would be nice to have a shirt that could stump people if only at first gaze.

The clock looks slightly awkward, also the chair looks very strange. For a start it looks to be about the same size as the table, and there is also no concept of movement with it as there is with everything else, so it seems somewhat out of place.

Oh why'd you add the clock? I thought this was awesome as was in the critiques! You still get a $5, though.

The photo this references is one of my faves, and your submission has awesomeness on several levels. So, $5 is a no-brainer.
Alas, surrealism has never been one of Threadless' strong points. The votards will probably kill this.... |

The title is the only way you can make sense of it. Maybe make it a little more realismish. Otherwise the shirt really doesn't make sense. Didn't get it until I read the title.

you should put the chair on the other side to balance it out i think what seems so odd about the clock is that its like melting up (which yes works for the surrealism) but the clock would probably balance more melting down or be taken out entirely its an excellent design though :D I love it |

I love the kitty. Anything that has a cat on it I love, actually. You get my kudos there. I agree with the clock change...it bothers me as well.

The clock can't melt downwards because gravity is reversed/switched off. Although, perhaps it would be more surreal for the clock to be melting down when everything else is heading up? Anyway, love it.
