I was doing some math in the shower and this popped into my head.

I love this! I'd buy it. I prefer the white writing on the darker shirt though.

too preachy - awkward placement

Great layout, execution, & I love the placement but I don't think your equation is interchangeable...in fact, I find it abrasive & pretentious.

intelligence without faith is very achievable, centuries of artists, philosophers, scientists and free-thinkers are proof of it

no me gusta, es demasiado político.

^ no creo que político es malo, pero, no me gusta tampoco.

i agree that it's too preachy, and i think that intelligence without faith is just that: intelligence.

Intelligence without faith has served me very very well in life.
TAKE THAT BUDDY.

urr...you guys are really just supporting his statement. Im not religious, but having intelligence without faith is just as narrow minded. I live a truly colorful and amazing life now that i have added faith to a frame of mind previously grounded in only logic and reason. Faith is not a poison. $4

I agree with Jordy, faith is not just religious

Hmmm... not bad but I think that the faded texture could be a lot more interesting.

Jordy-Faith is believing what cant be prroved, pretty much an antipode of intelligence, and a narrow mind does that, believes without proof, without questioning whats been told to him/her, just think beyond whats youre supposed to think, go and search, and pick up a few Nietzsche, Cortazar, Schopenhauer, Hume, etc books (not lashing out, i really recommend this authors, among a lot others that dont come to mind right now, well maybe a little lashing)

i like it, this reminds of of what my biology teacher taught my class, ignorance- is not knowing. when someone has faith, they do not have the facts to prove it, but insists that it is true.
indigoboo
indigoboo on Dec 27 '07
I think instead of saying "the reverse is also true", you should just write the reverse on the back.

It's a bit too preachy for my taste

Againstbound-

What if you didn't have faith in your own intelligence? Human nature isn't an infallible machine.

Sorry, had to propose the paradox. For fun.
dasaksa
dasaksa on Dec 28 '07
you "faithless intelligent" (oxymoron) are so full of crap...you have faith when you get in your car that the brakes will work, faith in the drivers coming down the road at you at 50 mph in the oncoming direction (that they'll stay out of your lane), faith in the pilots that fly you to Stupidsville that they didn't climb into the cockpit hung over (or the guys who put fuel in the jet, put enough in...it's not IF you have faith, it's WHAT you put your faith IN...whether you care to acknowledge it or not, you show faith everyday in something!

Oh boy... You've really opened a can of worms with this design :P

I'd very nearly buy and wear this shirt just to see the reactions I'd get!

Yeah pretty good idea, maybe not for threadless though. And I agree with another poster that Intelligence - Faith = Intelligence, I mean, look at Carl Sagan...

Haha 0 - 1 = -1 but 1 - 0 = 1 see?

gus294ter
gus294ter on Dec 29 '07
the shirt could be a little preachy and pretentious, but I like the discussions it would spark. Maybe if you're too pretentious about being intelligent without faith you miss out on a different kind of intelligence. Maybe people should be more open minded about what they consider faith, get off the high horse that "intelligence" often rides, and understand both sides of the equation.

agree that faith isn't necessarily religous. plenty of researchers are pursuing cures for aids because they have faith one exists.

I want an anti-religious t-shirt without words but more symbolic. I don't mean an upside down cross either.

Good idea.. horrible execution. Try again.. please?

Doesn't flow.
Too preachy (it could only become nonpreachy if I explained to everyone around me that faith can be non religious)
It's a silly statement. Just a lack of intelligence is ignorance.
I don't like the reverse bit.
Don't like the font

So, sorry :p
