Get bent, music industry!
Stop saturating the airwaves with bland music that sells on sex and violence.
Stop taking every underground sound that the kids start to listen to and then water it down till its nothing but a style of clothing so you can sell it to a mass market!
Its killing music!
Your profits margins be damned!
Your greed is killing music!

I agree with this, but I don't think "not filesharing" needs to be on the shirt. I think it could just focus on the main point, because we know what you are getting at. And maybe make it flow a little better with "Music Industry's" instead? Other then that, i like how it looks on the tee and the concept itself.

That's a naive statement, and if this bullshit is printed I will callout every motherfucker I see in this shirt. While the industry is corrupt, to argue that file sharing is not killing the industry is pretty goddamn stupid. I hope that more threadless users are intelligent enough to see the truth in this, and give this a 0.

That's why folks like Macaye & Albini were born.

Nice massage, Dave.

Well, I guess if you're into making a career out of music, I could see why you'd be concerned. But it'd do you good to simmer down there, sport. It's just a sub.

The music industry is corrupt? How about all the illegal downloading of music...

Thanks everybody for the responses.
In my own defense, i did put this up for Critique but did not get much response from it. I'm glad i'm finally getting some constructive criticism though. If this version doesnt fly than i'll definately reSub it with the recommended changes.

Also: If you dig this design it is available as a print in a range of sizes and mediums (posters, magnets, mousepads, etc) on my Deviantart Prints account.

Great message, but not one I'd wear.

While the message is absolutely true, it's... well... text. Isn't this site effectively an art contest?

The shirt holds water...until the last sentence, and it just becomes assholish. It is stupid to thin filesharing isnt hurting the music industry and there are people interested in making a career out of it. There are also labels out there that arent evil or greedy, but get hurt even more from file sharing because they arent greedy. I gotta go with repoman and say that, tho i might not call anyone out, I'd quietly think they were an idiot for wearing this. And it is an ART contest, not a spew your agenda contest. 0

I agree with vixyish. As art, this isn't very creative/aesthetically interesting.

I think type can be art. When its laid out well. When the hierarchy of sizes is right. When its kerned, tracked, and leaded right. Typography is definately art in my book. Its the layout and colors but its also the the statement itself.

i agree with the sentiment but i don't really like the design. and get rid of the last sentence. and maybe rework it some. the crossbone... eh, not to fond of it.

Id prefer it without the last bit of the sentence too! I would wear it then :)

to me everything is art. art is undefinable, art to one person could be something else to a different person. waht i think is, if CD's weren't so expensive maybe more people would buy them instead of downloading illegally. instead of paying all those rappers and other artist so much money tha they use on stupid extravagances, why not pay them less, and save money for the public. honesty, i dont think rappers need 100 different gold chains, grills, or 20 different cars.

Yeah, no offence but I couldn't really see anyone walking around in this without receiving a punch to the face?
I mean okay, but this is the sort of thing you say when you want people to listen, and I'm not sure people would.

I know that a lot of really awesome art gets slagged off here sometimes... but this shirt is off the hook! Really awesome work!

Well, obviously someone's (lots of someones, in fact) buying it ... why don't you go bug them instead?

I think that the last part of the text makes it too obvious of a statement. i think that it is a far more powerful shirt without the fileshareing comment. It gives it a wider appeal (particularly for those who have issues with mainstream music in general).

It is a good first take on the subject, but I think in this case less would be more.

Regarding the design: Meh.

Regarding the propaganda: If the product isn't worth the price, don't buy it. How hard is that?

Yeah the "not filesharing" is clumsy and excessive. Frankly I think that making it an idustry is the problem. I don't have much of an issue at all if that system came crashing down. I think the message would work even better if it just said "Industry is killing music." The graphic speaks enough to the greed that you don't even really need it there. I think the graphic could work better too.
