I think the rectangle-osity (That is too a word!) of it is throwing me off, but's it's still pretty snazzy.

I don't think you need to clean it up. The illustration is very children's storybook. It's perfectly appropriate.

I didn't see the big bad wolf. Had to look at it a couple of times before I saw the "concept". I think the drawing is a bit confusing.
