Good, but maybe you could add a broken fortune cookie?
ginetteginette
ginetteginette on Dec 11 '07
i think this would be best if there was a broken fortune cookie in the front and this message on the back of the shirt, but also a tad smaller.

fortune cookie is a great start...I'd lose the white on white

i'm gonna play those numbers!

I figured the fortune cookie was too obvious. But it seems you want the cookie. Sorry you don't like it Carly. I think I feel the same about posting comments with no value as you do about my design. What's the point?

Also, the comma is missing on purpose... they started separating out the last number because it is the bonus ball! Those chinese restaurants really want you to win the big bucks.

why does it need a cookie? Would we not get the joke without the cookie? I like it as-is.

I think a cookie would help add more interest. The numbers at the bottom are sometimes red or green and there are chinese characters on each side of the fortune. Could be more interesting with that too.

Maybe as a compromise between cookie (j-o-k-e, here it is spelt out) and no cookie (white-on-white), just have a couple of cookie crumbs as if to say, hey, at least I got to eat the cookie. That's always better than 'death, no cookie.' I'd probably like it in any of these formats.

Actually, funny might be if the back of the T-shirt had the 'Learn Chinese' lesson that some fortunes have been including... there could be a number of interesting choices for words back there: 'Afterlife' 'Red button' 'Parasite' 'Sunshine' 'Ennui' 'Broken heart' 'Orgasm' 'Buckshot' 'Daydream' 'Candiru' (worth looking up), 'Implosion' .... the list goes on and the options almost endless.

It's funny, but to simple looking. I think it should have the cookie, but with blood platter...maybe...not sure.

it would look great with the portune cookie idea and if it was on black because the natuaral is just a little boring, or maybe any color just nothing too bright or dull

I'd actually have a hand holding it, obviously the hand of someone who is no longer walking among the living, with a trail of blood coming from the unseen corner of the tee or just a few blood marks on the arm's suit or shirt. Creepy, but a better way to sell the idea me thinks.

damn hilarious. why don't fortune cookies have that?

sick because 17 is my lucky number

I like the idea, but it definitely needs something more. It's a little plain as is. Perhaps some cookie crumbs?

It needs a little more... i like the idea of the broken fortune cookie or the cookie crumbs. And i would def. want the color to be changed. maybe to an intense blue.

4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 perhaps?

Crumbs are the right call--suggesting that the cookie has already been eaten, but not dumbing it down to the level of the whole cookie. And "lucky numbers" are hilarious in light of the main message--keep it. Great black humor.
Darcy8387
Darcy8387 on Dec 14 '07
love the idea, hate the message...you can call it morbid humor, but it just seems uninventive when you think of all that you could do to make fun of a fortune cookie message... and the cookie would be great just to see, its not necessary for the idea, but who doesn't love fortune cookies?

I don't think you should change the mesage.....I like the irony of the lucky numbers and the horrible death.

Oh, and you don't need a cookie. It rocks right now!

this is really funny, but i wouldn't buy it cuz there really isn't much to it.

There should at least be some crumbs, if not an entire broken fortune cookie. That would really make it. I love the concept, though.

NO COOKIE. it's obvious. who's going to say "what's that strip of paper for?" no crumbs, no hands. good as just the fortune. maaaybe red ink like some fortunes, but creative choice is yours. I DO think you should add a Learn Chinese to the other side and i was thinking "sunshine" or something pleasant as if the fortune was totally nonchalant. and the 'lucky' numbers make the joke very funny. $4

I like all of Jordy's suggestions as well. Please have a different colour than creame (this pale-y doesn't look good in creame!). I love the sickness of it. Please!

I like the idea behind it, but agree with the 'add cookie' and maybe 'wrinkle the paper a bit more' suggestions. Yes, it is obvious what it is, but at the same time it is a t-shirt, and kinda bland as such.

Just my thoughts on the matter :)
