FRICKINAWESOME on Dec 10 '07 Vinnylo: Um, what about it? lol. Besides being on brown and both concerning books, I don't think there is any similarity to the two pieces. This is a pop-up book symbolizing long distance relationships, and that is a regular book concerning imagination.

I don't want to say anything negative, but I feel the shadows are all wrong! Well maybe one of them is right, but the others are all leading off in different directions.

FRICKINAWESOME on Dec 13 '07 If you have constructive criticism, never be afraid to give it noah-o! I don't think the shadows are off, but i could be wrong...the lighting is coming from something directly to the right of the design, and the pages aren't level with the lighting from part to part of the design, hence the different shadow directions. But we'll check into it if this is deemed print-worthy. thanks man!

Ok cool. It really is a beautiful design! I understand your point about the distortion, and I hadn't fully considered that. I think the arcs of the pages would transform straight shadows into curves, but the general direction would still be towards the same direction.
But as I look at it I think 'correct' shadows would be too linear for the rest of the design anyway, so don't screw up your design on my account! |
