Did you draw the punk girl? Because it looks like the same girl from a poster my friend has...I couldn't say for sure as I don't have it in front of me, but if you did just add text to someone else's artwork and call it your own...that would make you a punk ass.

That punkgirl stencil is everywhere. In different versions too.

But yeah, that stencil is based on a pic of Brody from the Distillers. And this image is based on a version of that stencil. But I've changed it up quite a bit. The profile of the face is different. The bust is smaller. The hair is bigger and different with different highlights. The jawline is different. The arm is different(and not anatomically correct now that i look at it). I added ear, nose, and monroe peircings, and a tattoo. And I didnt use the original picture as a guide at all. I used a version of the stencil, which was a departure from the image to begin with. I'm pretty sure nobody owns the copyright on the female profile or mohawks or the combination of the two. And the image of Brody is pretty popular so of course any pic of another stereotypically punk girl in profile is going to remind people of the popular Brody image. I guess i should have given her ridiculously ethnic features or something. Or made her a dude.

Yeah the poster I was thinking of is for Hellcat Records. Same chick, but slightly different pose. But it was still bothering me and then it dawned on me she is stenciled all over downtown. Honestly, I showed it to three different people and asked if they'd seen it before and they all thought it was that poster too...which tells me it's not just me and adding a beauty mark and hair extensions to someone else's art doesn't make it yours. I know I've made an enemy now but seriously, you're a punk ass.

The last comment was mostly sarcastic. But I do take artistic plagiarism seriously. It may be a popular stencil, but someone made it and they deserve credit for their work.
